I am a full time working mother of two and a runner turned triathlete/duathlete, with a dream of one day becoming a World Age-Group Champion.

I was lucky enough to come from a very active, supportive family, and was encouraged into sport from a young age. In my school days I won numerous County titles on the track and xc, and ran for Swindon AC.

In the early 90’s I joined Cirencester AC and after years of successful road running & cross country races I decided I needed a change, so raced triathlon for a season. With very little training I came 3rd in the Bedford Triathlon and was well placed in local triathlons.

But my running days weren’t over and I was approached by a fellow club member who offered to coach me. So, I decided to follow his advice and within 6 months of hard structured training I gained my first international GB vest in 2006. During the next 3 years I competed for GB five 5 times and was highly ranked in the UK over 5km to the marathon. I was fortunate to be invited to Barbados on two occasions to take part in their Run Barbados event. I was came 3rd in their 2007 half marathon and won their 10km and half marathon in 2008, providing my family with two wonderful holidays… so, putting in hours of hard training has it’s rewards!! My running career came to an end in December 2008 when I suffered an injury and in 2010 I had my second child, Gabriel.

In 2012 I decided it was time to get fit again, so I dusted off my wetsuit, TT bike and had a go at triathlon again as an age-grouper. Success came in 2013 when I qualified for the World Triathlon Championships in London.

Since then I’ve won the 2014 British Duathlon Age-Group Champs and have won numerous local events too. 2015 has been an up and down year.

I won my age-group in the Dambuster Duathlon in March but had a DNF in the British Duathlon Champs and a DNF in the European Duathlon Champs in April.

I have big aims for 2016 & look forward to representing Kinetic-One…. I plan to win the British Duathlon Champs for my age-group and compete in the Barcelona Ironman with the aim of qualifying for Kona.

I work full time as Print and Design Manager for Cotswold District Council, and have just completed 25 years’ service! I’m happily married to Justin (who is my rock!), and we have two children; Poppy aged 13 and Gabriel aged 5. Training is a juggling act and I fit my sessions in and around work and family life.

Training for next year’s Ironman will be challenging but with the support of my family and Kinetic-One I know I can get on that podium.
